Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer 1 plays a crucial role in planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes for medical device products. This position ensures a quality product is produced in a timely manner, collaborating with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs to improve existing product designs and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Operations Managers and outside Vendors to create methods and machines to enhance product capacity.
- Collaborate with Product Development Engineers to develop processes for new products.
- Partner with Operations, Accounting, and Global Product Managers to increase profit margins of current products.
- Train relevant personnel on new processes and document cost savings.
- Write and execute validation protocols, ensuring projects follow design controls established by QSPs.
- Provide support to the calibration department in writing and performing calibration procedures.
- Work with Quality Assurance and Product Development to verify and validate critical processes or products.
- Establish project timeliness and justification with management.
- Act as a resource for operational departments for materials, equipment, and process upgrades.
- Maintain training requirements and seek opportunities for continuous development and growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Work Environment
This role operates under general office environmental conditions, requiring sitting for extended periods and utilizing close visual acuity for working with computers and equipment. Frequent standing, walking, and communication are also required.
