  3. Facilitates collaboration with external tax, legal, and advisory professionals, reviewing their assessments and nurturing professional relationships.
  4. Directs the preparation of federal and state income tax filings, extensions, and estimated tax payments.
  5. Calculates FIN 48 reserves and evaluates the overlap of FIN 48 NOL valuation allowances.
  6. Recruits, mentors, and leads a team of junior tax professionals, fostering their development.
  7. Supervises the calculation of return-to-provision and the preparation of necessary journal entries.
  8. Engages with federal regulatory bodies and external auditors, providing prompt responses to information requests and navigating complex corporate tax matters.
  9. Conducts thorough tax research and analysis on a variety of tax-related issues.
  10. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax legislation.
  11. Ensures adherence to SOX controls and updates these controls as required.
  12. Manages responsibilities related to purchase accounting.
  13. Participates in cross-functional project teams focused on significant company initiatives.
  14. Complies with internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  15. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting is mandatory.
  2. 6 to 7+ years of experience in a corporate tax department and public accounting environment.
  3. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local income tax regulations.
  4. Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
  5. A Master's degree in taxation is preferred.
  6. Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
