Job Title: Complex Construction Defect Claims Adjuster

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a skilled Complex Construction Defect Claims Adjuster to join our team. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for handling complex construction defect claims, evaluating coverage issues, and ensuring appropriate investigation of the underlying facts and circumstances.

Responsibilities:
  • Recognize and manage exposures to ensure timely and accurate reserving.
  • Evaluate coverage issues and risk transfer opportunities to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, retain experts as needed, and select and utilize counsel appropriately.
  • Effectively communicate exposures both internally and externally.
  • Develop and implement resolution strategies to achieve the best total outcome.
  • May require periodic travel to attend mediations, trials, and other related meetings.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in handling or litigating construction defect commercial liability claims.
  • Proficient computer skills to navigate our paperless claim file system.
  • High level of technical claim and legal knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations, requirements, or priorities.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Home state adjuster license preferred.
  • CPCU designation/AIC certification preferred.
