Overview:
As a key member of the High Impact Unit (HIU), this role involves overseeing the management of intricate commercial liability claims through a dedicated team of 5 Complex Adjusters. The position reports directly to the Vice President.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and lead a high-performing claims team, ensuring the effective and timely resolution of complex commercial liability claims.
2. Foster talent development by providing opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and competencies.
3. Monitor team performance, identifying trends and root causes of issues, and escalate as necessary to operational leadership.
4. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by advocating for process efficiencies in claims handling.
5. Cultivate an engaged employee culture by demonstrating a commitment to employee development and recognition.
6. Ensure exceptional customer service by understanding and exceeding the expectations of stakeholders.
7. Address escalated complaints and coverage inquiries, providing resolutions or further escalation as needed.
8. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including policyholders and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance with standards.
9. Align business unit objectives with broader departmental and corporate goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles within the insurance sector.
- 7-10 years of progressively responsible claims experience across various casualty lines.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to persuade and influence effectively.
- Proficient in analyzing data to derive actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ambition and drive to achieve outstanding results.
- High emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
- Adaptable to change and receptive to constructive feedback.
- Advanced understanding of industry practices.
- Multi-state adjuster licenses are advantageous.
