Job Title: Assistant Director of Outreach and Prevention

The Tulane University Campus Health team is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Director of Outreach and Prevention to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a key member of the Counseling Center Leadership Team, this individual will play a critical role in ensuring the availability of high-quality services to Tulane students, representing the Counseling Center in the University community, and assuming responsibility for the Counseling Center in the absence of the Director and Associate Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee Counseling Center outreach and prevention programs and activities, including diversity initiatives, psycho-educational, mental health issues, and suicide prevention outreach.
  • Provide administrative leadership in the area of outreach and serve as an outreach consultant to the university community on mental health issues.
  • Design and implement outreach and preventive programming to diverse audiences, possess public speaking skills, and demonstrate a commitment to social justice, competencies in various multicultural issues, and the wellbeing of students.
  • Conduct and supervise direct clinical services, including short-term individual therapy, group therapy, and workshops, crisis response, outreach activities, community referrals, and consultations.
  • Supervise staff psychologists and therapists, participate in the Student Affairs Division and the University mission, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program and completion of an APA-approved internship.
  • At least three years postdoctoral clinical experience.
  • Management experience within a mental health organization.
  • Experience overseeing/coordinating college outreach or similar programming.
  • Licensed to practice psychology in the State of Louisiana or eligible by date of hire to obtain Louisiana licensure, including having previously passed the EPPP exam and completing postdoctoral clinical hours.
  • Experience working with students in a university counseling setting.
  • Previous administrative and leadership experience in a university counseling center.
  • Ability to manage complex crises and/or clinical situations and to provide related supervision, training, and consultation to a large multidisciplinary staff and faculty.
