Job Overview

Location: Remote with travel requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act on behalf of CYPFER in cybersecurity incident recovery, liaising with insurance partners, legal representatives, incident response teams, client executives, and technical personnel.
  • Employ standard tools and methodologies to gather forensic evidence and images from compromised systems.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of system configurations and forensic evidence to evaluate breaches and assist forensic teams.
  • Decrypt, authenticate, and validate encrypted information.
  • Restore, recover, troubleshoot, and rebuild both physical and virtual servers affected by ransomware or other cybersecurity threats.
  • Create and implement baseline images using Acronis or comparable solutions.
  • Manage and deploy EDR/XDR solutions, including SentinelOne, Crowdstrike, and Cortex.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure top-tier service delivery.
  • Occasionally lead smaller projects while primarily contributing as part of a larger team.
  • Perform basic firewall management, including log reviews and policy adjustments on next-generation firewalls.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and be available for weekend and off-hours work as necessary.
  • This position is remote but requires readiness to travel to client sites on short notice, up to 50% of the time, with deployments typically lasting 1-2 weeks.
Technical Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical support, system administration, or a related field.
  • Proficient understanding of the OSI Model and TCP/IP protocols (IP, ARP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, SMTP, FTP, TFTP).
  • Experience in building and managing Windows Server environments, including Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, GPO, FSMO, and NTP services.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Exchange and MS SQL operations.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and networking.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, including vSphere, MS Hyper-V, and Nutanix.
  • Ability to effectively set up VLANs in a networking context.
  • Understanding of next-generation firewall operations.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies such as RAID, NAS, SAN, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, and NFS.
  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions.
Business Responsibilities:
  • Stay updated on information security trends, technical infrastructure, recovery methods, emerging threats, and tools.
  • Collaborate closely with PMO and leadership to align workflows and recovery initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Work independently to produce high-quality deliverables with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and consulting capabilities.
  • Adhere to client and internal policies, procedures, and security protocols.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and draft updates and reports as necessary.
  • Remain composed and articulate in challenging customer interactions.
  • Exhibit excellent relationship management and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proactive risk assessment and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of DFIR, threat hunting, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with EDR/XDR solutions.
  • Experience supporting hybrid and cloud environments such as Azure and AWS.
  • Linux and Apple OS X troubleshooting experience.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as MCP, Network+, Security+, CCNA, or similar are advantageous.
