As a prominent entity in ransomware recovery and immediate cyber-incident response, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional outcomes that surpass industry benchmarks. Our dedicated team collaborates with leading global insurance providers, top-tier law firms, and Fortune 1000 companies.

Location: This position is remote but requires travel to client sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act on behalf of CYPFER in recovery operations related to cybersecurity incidents, liaising with insurance partners, legal advisors, incident response teams, client executives, and technical staff.
  • Employ established tools and methodologies to gather forensic evidence and images from compromised systems.
  • Conduct initial assessments of system configurations and forensic data to evaluate breaches and assist forensic teams.
  • Decrypt, authenticate, and validate encrypted information.
  • Restore, troubleshoot, and rebuild both physical and virtual servers affected by ransomware or other security breaches.
  • Create and implement standardized system images using Acronis or comparable technologies.
  • Oversee and manage EDR/XDR solutions, including SentinelOne, Crowdstrike, and Cortex.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure top-tier service delivery.
  • Occasionally lead smaller projects while primarily functioning as part of a larger team.
  • Basic firewall management: review logs and modify policies on next-generation firewalls.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation; availability for weekend and off-hours work as required.
  • Flexibility to travel frequently with short notice for deployments lasting typically 1-2 weeks.
Technical Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years in technical support, system administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the OSI Model and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Experience in building and managing Windows Server environments, including domain controllers and related services.
  • Basic understanding of MS Exchange and MS SQL operations.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and networking.
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as vSphere and MS Hyper-V.
  • Ability to configure VLANs in a networking context.
  • Understanding of next-generation firewall operations.
  • Experience with storage technologies, including RAID and SAN.
  • Proficient in backup and recovery solutions.
Business Responsibilities:
  • Stay updated on information security trends, technical infrastructure, recovery strategies, and emerging threats.
  • Collaborate with project management and leadership to align recovery efforts with strategic goals.
  • Work independently to produce high-quality results with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and consulting capabilities.
  • Comply with internal and client policies, procedures, and security protocols.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and prepare updates and reports as necessary.
  • Remain composed and articulate in challenging client interactions.
  • Exhibit strong relationship management and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proactive in risk assessment and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of DFIR, threat hunting, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with EDR/XDR solutions.
  • Experience in hybrid and cloud environments, such as Azure and AWS.
  • Linux and Apple OS X troubleshooting skills.
  • Relevant industry certifications like MCP, Network+, Security+, or CCNA are advantageous.
