Job Summary

As a Field Engineer II at JT4, you will play a critical role in the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems. Under the supervision of a senior-level engineer, you will perform a variety of fundamental field engineering tasks, including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of network and telecom equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain network and telecom equipment and systems
  • Perform as network lead on network field engineering assignments
  • Experience with different types of networking equipment and associated technologies
  • Strong understanding of WAN/LAN systems used to transmit voice, data, and video across digital and fiber optic WAN/LAN infrastructure
  • Ability to design and implement solutions in accordance with commercial network standards
  • Experience with network layers 2/3 and TDM networking equipment
  • Experience with commercial carrier services and managing system interconnects
  • Ability to manage, troubleshoot, and repair physical and logical network infrastructure
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with CISCO network equipment
  • Experience with CIENA Optical Transport Network equipment
Requirements
  • An associate's degree in engineering or other technical discipline, or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of seven years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field
  • Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles and familiarity with related engineering fields
  • Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
