Job Summary

The Career Advisor II will oversee the performance of the Community Employment Center or Mobile Employment Center. This role is responsible for ensuring that clients are timely served by understanding their employment interests, identifying their skills and qualifications, guiding them towards development, and assisting them in their action plan towards placement into employment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and Train Career Advisor I: Ensure that the Career Advisor I is equipped to successfully perform their job functions.
  2. Develop and Implement Job Readiness Workshops: Promote, schedule, and conduct Job Readiness workshops for clients and Goodwill Industry of San Diego County ambassadors. Suggest changes to the curriculum whenever needed.
  3. Build Relationships with Community Employers: Establish relationships with community employers to identify employment opportunities for clients.
  4. Develop Partnerships with Education Agencies: Build relationships with education agencies to create development opportunities for clients.
  5. Provide Wrap-Around Resources: Identify and suggest innovative services and delivery strategies whenever needed.
  6. Coordinate Hiring Events: Coordinate and organize hiring events for community employers and clients.
  7. Communicate with Recruiters and Job Developers: Frequently communicate with Recruiters and Job Developers to understand how employment centers can support them.
  8. Meet Performance Goals: Responsible for the overall success of the center by meeting weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals. Monitor progress on key performance indicators to identify trends and make adjustments to meet target goals.
  9. Travel to Various Locations: Travel to numerous locations within San Diego and Imperial counties with the Mobile Community Employment Center to provide employment services to different communities.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • An AA, BA, or BS degree preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, MS Project, email, and internet.
  • A valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance, and a driving record acceptable by Goodwill's insurance company.
