Role Overview:
The Head Culinary Specialist is responsible for the efficient preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, including tacos, meats, fish, vegetables, and soups. This role also involves the preparation and presentation of food items, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for the quality of all food products served.
  • Consistently adhere to standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards.
  • Maintain adequate levels of food products at cooking stations to ensure smooth service.
  • Prepare food items according to established recipes and portion sizes.
  • Keep workstations clean and organized, including all cooking equipment.
  • Prepare ingredients for various cooking methods such as grilling, frying, and broiling.
  • Ensure proper presentation and garnishing of all dishes.
  • Handle and store food products safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with food preparation during less busy periods as required.
  • Follow closing procedures and assist team members in closing the kitchen.
  • Participate in scheduled team meetings and contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to think quickly and solve problems effectively.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hot, and noisy environment.
  • Demonstrated integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak times, including evenings and weekends.
  • Food handling and/or alcohol certification may be required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and online delivery applications is essential.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a back-of-house role is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
  • At least 2 years of experience with restaurant POS systems and online ordering platforms.
