At Sarasota County Government, we are looking for a dedicated professional to support our Water and Wastewater Facilities. In this role, you will engage in advanced technical work in the realms of electrical, automation, and instrumentation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and calibration of various electronic and control systems.
- Support hardware and software systems, including SCADA and remote telemetry.
- Inspect and troubleshoot control circuitry, PLCs, and VFDs.
- Utilize a range of testing equipment and tools for diagnostics and repairs.
- Install and maintain SCADA systems and related electrical devices according to technical specifications.
- Modify existing instrumentation controls to enhance performance and compliance with current standards.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. *On-call duties required.
Qualifications:
- Technical School Diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED with three years of experience in electronics and IT technologies.
A valid Florida Driver's License is required upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Courses in electronic control, instrumentation, or related fields.
- Certification as a Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) from the International Society for Automation (ISA).
- Experience in electrical and industrial electrical work.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Additional Information:
This position requires passing a pre-employment substance screening. Failure to pass will result in disqualification from employment for five years.
Compensation:
Starting pay at $34.35, with a full salary range up to $43.26.
