Maintenance Worker

The City of Santa Clarita is seeking a part-time, temporary, seasonal Maintenance Worker to join our Parks Division team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our city's parks, trails, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including grounds maintenance, landscape maintenance, and tree maintenance
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of ball diamonds, sport fields, and park grounds
- Operate small power tools and equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
- Remove weeds and litter from parks and participate in projects as assigned
- Clean and restock park restrooms
- Maintain open space and trails, including repairing trail fence lines
- Prepare park facilities for special events
- Establish and maintain working relationships with City staff and members of the public
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid California Class C driver's license and safe driving record
- At least six months of experience in a maintenance field, including grounds maintenance, landscape maintenance, tree maintenance, and safety inspections
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills and ability to enter service requests using a mobile device
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
