Job Title: Shift Leader

Join our team as a Shift Leader at Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Inc. and take on a challenging role that requires strong leadership and communication skills.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Leader to lead our Front Crew and Kitchen Crew in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and manage Front Crew and Kitchen Crew members to ensure excellent customer service and efficient restaurant operations.
  • Perform Front of the House (FOH) and Back of the House (BOH) responsibilities, including cash handling, food preparation, and cleaning.
  • Interview, hire, train, manage, and supervise employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding employment, hiring, firing, discipline, scheduling, and oversight.
  • Schedule and coordinate meal and rest periods to comply with all legal requirements.
  • Handle and resolve employee and customer complaints and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company cash handling procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greet customers, and assist customers with their orders.
  • Promote marketing promotions and new product items to customers.
  • Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) system, handle payment, serve food to customers.
  • Perform cashier closing and daily closing procedure at the end of each shift or day.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the store by performing daily and weekly cleaning and sanitizing tasks.
  • Ensure all aspects of restaurant operations run smoothly and effectively.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in the restaurant industry.
  • Food Handler Card required by state or local health department.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Proficient using MS Word, Excel, Email, and basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation required.
Working Conditions:

The kitchen area is hot and noise level is usually high. The walk-in refrigerated area is extremely cold. Working around kitchen equipment and tools.

Physical Demands:

Standing, walking, talking, hearing for long periods of time. Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling items up to 50 lbs. Frequent hand washing and the use of cleaning solution. Repetitive movement of arms, fingers, hands, and wrists. Reaching high storage shelving with a stepladder. Squatting, kneeling, bending to reach for objects in the lower cabinet or shelving.
