Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

The MICU at Corewell Health is a 20-bed unit that provides high-quality care to severely ill patients. Our team of skilled nurses and healthcare professionals work together to deliver a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.
Patient Population
We care for patients with severe sepsis, acute respiratory failure, shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome, multisystem organ failure, gastrointestinal bleeds, diabetic ketoacidosis, hypertensive crisis, and acute/chronic renal failure.

Scope of Work
As a Registered Nurse in the MICU, you will utilize the nursing process to provide professional nursing care. You will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients while incorporating patient-family centered care principles.

Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing is required.
- Bachelors in Nursing is required within 5 years.
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months.
- Specialty Certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
