We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Event Planning Assistant to join our team at Senior Living Communities. As an Event Planning Assistant, you will be responsible for creating, marketing, and leading spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, and emotional events and programs to foster a Weller lifestyle tailored to the needs and interests of our diverse resident population.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage residents in Weller Life opportunities through formal activities and informal interactions.
- Plan and facilitate events and programs that are consistent with company standards and focused on residents' unique needs and interests.
- Continuously gauge residents' interests, hobbies, preferences, curiosities, and needs to create a diverse and stimulating menu of programming activities and events.
- Seek out and foster partnerships with local organizations, non-profit groups, educational institutions, and others to identify opportunities for residents to share their talents through volunteerism and to bring outside talents into the community.
- Develop and publish professional written communications to promote programs, educate residents, and share examples of Weller Life in the community.
- Monitor resident participation in programs to evaluate their appeal and increase participation; adjust calendars or events accordingly.
- Stay up-to-date on active aging and generational trends to continuously enhance Weller Life initiatives; share relevant information with peers and community staff to increase awareness and support professional development.
- Collaborate with team members, residents, and home office staff to deliver engaging and informative orientation and in-service training programs.
- Participate in all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
- Four-year degree or experience in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- High school graduation or GED required.
- Proficiency in using event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in event planning and execution.
- CPR and AED certification required (must be attained within the first 60 days of employment).
- Technical Skills: Current and ongoing competence in tasks assigned, indicating a specialized skill in this area above and beyond the average.
- Communication: Ability to effectively and regularly transfer information to necessary parties to improve the quality of work and provide supervisors with actionable, accurate data.
- Initiative: Self-motivated and personally competitive, with a desire to achieve for the good of the company and the team.
- Flexibility: Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and navigate obstacles with ease and professionalism.
- Interpersonal Skills: Focus on solving conflict, not blaming; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to ideas and tries new things.
