Job Summary

The Nutrition & Culinary Cook is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served to residents, adhering to all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, and following established food production procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality meals according to standardized recipes.
  • Use and direct the use of accurate portion control standards.
  • Organize and plan work schedules to meet meal serving times.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in the kitchen at all times.
  • Verify daily menus to ensure all necessary items are prepared as needed.
  • Store leftovers properly according to food handling standards.
  • Operate equipment in a safe, sanitary, and respectful manner.
  • Supervise the entire dining experience to ensure resident satisfaction with meal service.
  • Check food product temperatures and document in temperature logs.
  • Complete cleaning tasks as assigned according to schedule.
  • Clean equipment and work areas to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Inventorize and order food products, ensuring adequate inventory levels.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
