Role Summary:


The Clinical Neuropsychologist is tasked with delivering comprehensive neuropsychological services to patients within our organization independently.

Outpatient focus with no behavioral health involvement.

Located in a central area, within the Neuropsychology Department of Orlando Health Medical Group.

Common conditions treated include epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, ALS, and more.

Preferred qualifications include experience in surgical clearance and memory assessment, along with billing experience, though the latter is not mandatory.

Work Schedule:
Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:


Services are provided under the direct consultation request and order of a physician from within the organization or from external sources.


Neuropsychological services may encompass, but are not limited to: evaluation, diagnosis, ordering of relevant services, education, and provision of suitable psychotherapeutic interventions related to a patient's medical condition, as well as cognitive rehabilitation and adjustment counseling as necessary.


Specific Duties Include:
- Responding to physician-directed consultations;
- Conducting patient assessments and interventions;
- Preparing detailed neuropsychological evaluation reports aimed at diagnosis or assisting with differential diagnoses;
- Describing cognitive-emotional, psychological, and behavioral strengths and weaknesses;
- Developing intervention strategies, which may involve individual and/or family education, cognitive rehabilitation, and psychotherapeutic interventions.


Evaluates and, when appropriate, accepts referrals from community sources, including physicians, private individuals, families, or attorneys for assessments related to cognitive, psychological, or behavioral impairments, as well as competency evaluations or disability assessments.


Demonstrates the ability to thoroughly evaluate and interpret neuropsychological and psychological results, treating and educating patients and families in accordance with the standards set by the American Psychological Association and the State of Florida Board of Psychology, as well as Orlando Health's policies and procedures.


Participates in continuing education to maintain State of Florida psychological licensure, fulfilling the requirement of 40 credit hours every two years.

Adheres to the ethical principles and codes of conduct established by the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.


Maintains regular and punctual attendance in line with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards.

Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Maintains a suitable environment for performing neuropsychological duties, ensuring cleanliness, appropriate lighting, and temperature regulation.

Upholds the highest standards of record confidentiality in accordance with the American Psychological Association.

Exhibits a communication style that is open, honest, caring, and committed when interacting with colleagues, visitors, patients, and families.

Practices efficient use and selection of necessary supplies and equipment.

Performs additional duties as assigned by the administrative liaison.


Demonstrates knowledge and skills relevant to the State of Florida psychological licensure, as well as the requirements of Division 40 of the American Psychological Association, necessary for providing age-appropriate care to patients.

Exhibits expertise commensurate with the level of education and position requirements as outlined.

Qualifications:
Education/Training:
Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology with specialized training and education in neuropsychology.

Licensure/Certification:
Licensed psychologist in the State of Florida by the Florida Department of Health, with bi-annual renewal.

Must adhere to the guidelines specified in Division 40, APA for practice in neuropsychology as established by the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Experience:
Requirements for licensure in psychology include a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology, completion of a clinical internship, and a post-doctoral fellowship.
