Position Overview: Nemours Children's Health is actively seeking a full-time Pediatric Neuropsychologist to enhance our expanding team within the Division of Neurology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive epilepsy surgical evaluations
  • Manage post-surgical follow-up for epilepsy patients
  • Perform Functional MRI assessments
  • Engage in cortical mapping to identify critical brain areas

The Neuropsychologist will also address a variety of neurological conditions, including but not limited to epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, developmental delays, and neuroimmunological issues.

Program Development: We are in the process of establishing a robust, multidisciplinary pediatric neurosciences program in Florida. Our epilepsy surgery initiative is experiencing significant growth, supported by a dedicated team comprising four epileptologists, a functional neurosurgeon, two advanced practice providers, and skilled EEG technologists and nursing staff. Our facility includes a six-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and advanced surgical technology.

Clinical Focus: At least 50% of the Neuropsychologist's responsibilities will center on epilepsy-related work. Additional clinical duties will involve supporting programs in neuromuscular disorders, neuroimmunology, and headache management. A significant portion of the current demand pertains to general neurology patients exhibiting cognitive impairments.

Support Structure: Our outpatient practice is thriving, bolstered by a team of professionals including a dedicated Psychometrist, advanced practice providers, nurses, certified EEG technicians, and therapists. Faculty members are expected to participate in inpatient service rotations, collaborating with residents and medical students in the EMU.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Psychology (PsyD or PhD)
  • Completion of a 1-2 year Neuropsychology Fellowship
  • ABPP & EPPP Certification with specialized expertise in epilepsy surgical evaluations
