Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in our organization by managing General Ledger accounts and performing essential reconciliations, including the initiation of adjustments. This position is structured to prepare individuals for future leadership roles in accounting while collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance business operations through financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:

- Timely Financial Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of tax returns, including biweekly Federal Excise and monthly State tax returns for a multi-entity/multi-state organization.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Prepare and disseminate all internal and external financial reports promptly.
- Accurate Reconciliation:
- Review and reconcile various accounts with attention to detail and urgency.
- Swiftly identify and resolve discrepancies to uphold financial integrity.
- Support Branch Performance:
- Analyze financial factors affecting the performance of multiple branches.
- Conduct monthly reviews and analyses of statements by location to identify trends and patterns.
- Advisory Role:
- Collaborate with key decision-makers to provide financial insights that enhance business operations.
- Ensure that financial statements are presented accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with accounting standards and practices.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance accounting expertise.
- Knowledge Sharing:
- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange insights and best practices.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning within the finance team.
- Innovative Analysis:
- Utilize innovative methods to analyze financial statements and metrics.
- Prepare and distribute key metrics reports that offer actionable insights for the organization.
- Proactive Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve issues promptly, employing creative solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Assist in the successful completion of annual audits and other necessary audits.
- Financial Integrity:
- Ensure all financial reports and statements are accurate and compliant with GAAP.
- Distribute statements internally to management and externally to banks and lending institutions.
- Efficient Resource Management:
- Support the effective use of resources by providing accurate financial data for decision-making.
- Contribute to the organization's financial health through diligent accounting practices.
- Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional tasks as required, reflecting our commitment to flexibility and responsiveness in achieving business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting.
- Experience in Public Accounting is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training and collaboration.
