Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vocational Rehabilitation Coach to join our team at Community Based Care of Brevard, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating beginning to end services for youth and young adults eligible and receiving Vocational Rehabilitation program services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and identify qualifying youth, complete referrals, and accompany clients with intakes.
  • Find appropriate job placement sites for clients, maintain relationships with employers and youths' teams, and provide onsite support for clients.
  • Assist with Pre-Placement Training, Self-Advocacy classes, and Internships (Work Based Learning Experiences) and documentation.
  • Develop, strengthen, and maintain direct working relationships with young adults, their support systems, mental health professionals, community agencies, and worksite partners.
  • Provide guidance and support to case management agencies regarding Youth Services Programs, Requirements, and Services.
  • Utilize internal referral and program processes and train local system stakeholders of the new processes.
  • Search for On-the-Job Training (OJT)/Work Based Readiness Learning Experience (WBLE) opportunities that match youth's interests, abilities, and are within a reasonable distance to their home.
  • Serve as the Point of Contact for VR Liaisons to assist with any referral, documentation, or service submissions needing attention.
  • Assist enrolled youth during On-the-Job (OJT) Training to improve soft skills as well as build vocational skills, give feedback and guidance to both employers and youth/young adults to ensure OJT is successful.
  • Collaborate with supervisors at partner job sites to ensure that any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure effective communication with youth's support team (caregiver, case worker, GAL, mentor, Advocate, etc.) so that they are aware of progress, challenges, or any issues that may arise during services.
  • Write detailed case notes for documenting all email, phone, text, or in-person interactions and input them into appropriate databases in a timely manner.
  • Manage program budget and revenue alongside Education and Career Development Manager and Finance Director.
  • Lead and support Vocational Rehabilitation Public Ally in overall job duties alongside Education and Career Development Manager.
  • Guarantee data collection and tracking of progress is purposeful and easily reportable as requested for quality assurance and audits.
  • Function as Point of Contact for VR Points of Contact to assist with any referral, documentation, or program requirements submissions needing attention.
  • Facilitate Work Based Learning and Self Advocacy Training multiple times per year.
  • Support staff in identifying potential community employers for Work Based Learning Internships or possible long-term employment.
  • Participate in the agency strategic plan & quality improvement processes.
  • Ability to safely & successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, & other federal, state, & local standards, including meeting qualitative & quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA & other federal, state, & local standards.
  • Ability to comply with all personnel policies & procedures.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in employment counseling, job placement, job coaching, and child welfare case management.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work/human services field.
  • Knowledge and at least 2 years' experience working in the child welfare or system.
  • Experience working with at-risk adolescents/young adults and/or those with developmental disability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • State of Florida Child Welfare Certification (CWCM).
  • Master's degree in social work or human services field.
  • Certification or specialized training in ADA services.
Skills
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with youth, mentors, agency, and other stakeholder staff, and members of the community.
  • Ability to travel locally to visit youth in their placements or job placements.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust workload, as necessary.
  • Ability to analyze, integrate, and report data.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff, subordinates, and constituents.
  • Demonstrate cultural and linguistic competence & sensitivity to population served.
Special Conditions
  • Thorough Background Screening upon hire including FBI, FDLE, Local Law check, Employment Reference check, DMV check, Criminal Records check, Social Security Trace & Drug Screening. FDLE check will be run at least every 5 years.
  • On-call assignments- Yes.
  • Travel- local: 40% per week, long-distance: 5% per month.
