We are seeking a skilled Furniture Repair Technician to join our team at Wayfair. As a key member of our distribution team, you will play a critical role in improving customer satisfaction and driving repeat business.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate damages and defects of items to determine if they can be repaired
- Make any required adjustments to items ahead of delivery to ensure they are in perfect condition for the customer
- Prioritize and execute on daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to ensure completion in a timely and effective manner
- Accurately report outcomes of work in progress, completed, and past due work
- Monitor inventory and order replacement parts and complete installs as needed
- At least 5+ years of prior experience in furniture repair/construction
- Advanced understanding of repairing wood items, including color and stain matching, damage/defect repair
- Ability to use power and hand tools as needed
- Advanced understanding of repairing upholstery and multiple fabric types (a plus)
- High attention to detail and prioritizes quality to deliver a perfect item to the customer
- Must be comfortable lifting up to 75 lbs. unassisted and moving product 150+ lbs. unassisted or via team lift
- Must be able to work on warehouse floor 8 hours a day or more
- Strong, consistent work ethic and ability to manage time effectively
- Comfort with scanning technology
- Able to read and comprehend English to ensure safety and the safety of those working around you
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Certification in Furniture Repair/Restoration (preferred)
