Schedule: 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday (Initial 5 weeks); 12-hour shifts (Day/Night options available) for the remainder of the program.

We are pleased to present an opportunity for a Patient Care Technician (PCT) Apprenticeship program offered by Northshore Health System. This is a full-time, compensated position ($16.08/hour) that includes benefits and entails both classroom learning and practical training within a 40-hour work week. All educational expenses, training materials, and examination fees are fully covered.
Key Responsibilities of Program Participants:
- Successfully complete a 4-week training course (2 weeks of classroom instruction followed by 2 weeks of hybrid learning).
- Commit to an 8-hour day shift for the first 5 weeks of the program.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance for all training sessions and scheduled shifts.
- Pass the Certified Nursing Assistant exam within 2 weeks following the completion of the training program.
- Agree to accept a full-time PCT position at Northshore Health System, with day and night shifts available.
The PCT Apprenticeship program is a collaborative initiative between Northshore Health System and Valparaiso University, featuring a 4-week certified nursing assistant training course conducted at our designated training center and hospital locations.
Upon successful completion of the course and passing the Certified Nursing Assistant exam, participants will transition to a PCT role (with an increased salary) at Northshore Health System.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and in accordance with established protocols, Patient Care Technicians perform various patient care tasks and procedures to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of patients.
