Patient Care Specialist

As a Patient Care Technician at Northshore, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide patient care tasks and procedures in an Emergency Department setting. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the care, comfort, and safety of patients. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, prioritization, and the ability to receive and follow directions. You will be required to complete in-depth orientation regarding patient care skill tasks, including phlebotomy and de-escalation training. Additionally, you will need to maintain current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Responsibilities:
Perform patient care tasks and procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
Provide care, comfort, and safety of patients in an Emergency Department setting
Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care
Maintain accurate records and reports as required
Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance patient care skills
Requirements:
Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience
Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, prioritization, and direction-following
Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
