Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Peer Learning Facilitator to enhance the academic experience of students through personalized support. This role is essential in fostering an interactive learning atmosphere and providing tailored assistance to peers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with students individually or in small groups to promote an active learning environment.
- Adhere to specific instructions and assignments as outlined by faculty members.
- Offer specialized academic guidance to students outside of traditional classroom settings.
- Ensure confidentiality of student information and progress in compliance with relevant privacy regulations.
- Maintain regular communication with course instructors for effective task execution.
- Participate in grading low-stakes assignments as directed by the instructor.
- Attend monthly professional development sessions to enhance skills.
- Work-study eligibility is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours within a degree program.
- Availability for a minimum of 6 hours per week, with a maximum of 10 hours.
- Participation in introductory sessions and weekly meetings is required.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the relevant discipline.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting undergraduate education.
- Experience in public engagement and the ability to think critically.
- Commitment to maintaining academic standing and progress towards a degree.
