CesiumAstro is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Electronics Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-reliability power electronics systems for our satellite and aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end design of power converters and power management circuits, from concept to production.
  • Perform detailed schematic design and PCB layout for low to high complexity power electronics designs.
  • Develop design verification test plans and perform bring-up and design verification testing of power electronics circuits and modules.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering team and lead system integration and qualification campaigns.
  • Mentor junior engineers and perform research to stay up-to-date with new power electronics technology and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 6 years of industry or university research experience in board-level power electronics design, analysis, and test.
  • Experience owning the design phase of power electronics or power subsystems, including power architecture and requirements definition, trade studies, and detailed design.
  • Strong laboratory testing and troubleshooting experience for prototyping, design verification testing, and qualification of analog and power electronics hardware.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience delivering subcircuit or board designs to production and deployment.
  • Proficiency in printed circuit board design tools such as Altium, OrCAD/Allegro, PADS/Xpedition, or similar.
  • Experience running board-level power integrity simulation tools such as Ansys SiWave, ADS SIPro, or HyperLynx.
