Job Summary

At Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Post Silicon Debug/Validation Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for debugging, emulation, and test development for state-of-the-art GPU, Coherent Interconnect, and Memory Controllers used in smartphones, tablets, and automotive applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Debug and validate GPU, Coherent Interconnect, and Memory Controllers for smartphones, tablets, and automotive applications.
  • Develop and implement automated SOC level system test generation for GPU and Coherent Interconnect.
  • Bring up board-level hardware and software for GPU, SOCs, and Memory Controllers.
  • Analyze functional and parametric behavior of SOCs and IP within an SOC.
  • Debug and root cause determination of improper or inconsistent operation.
  • Develop software tools and scripts to support debug and test simplification and automation.
  • Leverage debug features to accelerate testing and improve test effectiveness.
  • Develop IP level functional validation test plans.
  • Perform SOC emulation, modifying hardware, software, and test bench, running emulation, and analyzing SOC behavior.
  • Provide debug and testing input for feature improvements to next-generation designs.

Requirements
  • BS Computer Engineering, BSEE, or comparable and 10+ years industry experience in a design verification role or Master's Degree plus 6 years experience or PhD plus 4 years experience.
  • Experience with System and board-level bring up.
  • Experience with GPU and Microprocessor Debug using Logic Analyzer, Scopes, and other test equipment.
  • Experience using debugger such as Lauterbach to debug software/SOC.
  • Familiarity with performance and power measurement techniques.
  • Familiarity with scanchain, array dump, HW debug techniques.
  • Familiarity with emulator signal extraction from waveform techniques.
  • Familiarity with IPXACT design documents and parser software development.
  • GPU architectural knowledge and development experience.
  • Familiarity with GPU APIs (OGL, OGLes, Vulkan) and GPU SW stacks.
  • Experience with C/C++/Object Oriented programming, Python, Shell Scripting.
  • Familiarity with GPU and Microprocessor Product and Test engineering.
  • Linux and Android Kernel programming.
  • BIOS and Firmware programming.
  • Verilog, UVM experience.
  • Experience in driving debug effort across design, verification, and software organization.
