Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large QA team. The QA team will be embedded in 5 agile teams supporting major products such as Policy Center, Rating, Billing Center, Agency Management System, Quoting/Citizens Hub. You will be responsible for managing staff, including hiring, goal setting, planning and delegation of work, training and skill development, coaching/mentoring and completing performance evaluations. You will also be responsible for defining and maintaining holistic software quality assurance strategies, including automation roadmap partnering with business and technology stakeholders. You will champion continuous improvement of QA services and value with defined metrics. You will also be responsible for defining and leading adoption of QA standards and practices leveraging layered testing principles to enable product quality. You will address QA impediments for agile teams that emerge as part of project or product life cycle. You will participate in budget planning and tracking for QA tools, training, and staffing.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate a work environment that fosters and supports ethical decision-making and actions. Requirements

Business and Technology acumen. Software Development Life cycle. Agile framework like SAFe, Scrum, Kanban. Knowledge of modern Test Management tools. Knowledge of layered automation tools. Familiar with Cloud and modern Digital products. Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices. Knowledge of risk management. Extensive experience in Software QA Manual and Automation testing. Preferred Requirements

Knowledge or experience in Property Insurance industry. 6+ years of experience in enterprise-level software testing with web-based applications in a large-scale, relational database environment. 2 or more years of leadership experience. Knowledge of tools like Rally, ReadyAPI, Selenium, Postman, Parasoft. Knowledge of Guidewire platform.

Education

High School Diploma | GED (required). Associate/Technical Degree OR 2 years relevant experience, OR a combination of both college and experience equivalent to 2 years. Bachelor's Degree OR 3 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years. Additional education may count towards work experience.

Scope/Complexity of Work

What percentage of time is accountable for long-term strategic planning? 25 % What percentage of time is accountable for short-term operational goals? 50 % What percentage of time is accountable for transactional, day to day operational support? 25 % Is this role responsible for an overall budget? If YES, indicate the dollar amount $30,000
