Job Summary:

As an Advanced Practice Nurse - Weight Management Specialist with OSF HealthCare, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting healthy weight management practices in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients seeking weight management support, including medical history, physical examinations, and relevant diagnostic studies.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices, incorporating nutrition, exercise, behavioral modifications, and pharmacotherapy as appropriate.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on weight management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of maintaining a healthy weight.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including dietitians, psychologists, and other medical professionals, to provide holistic care to patients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Participate in outreach programs to promote awareness about obesity and weight management resources in the community.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in weight management and obesity care.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics
