We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Energy Business Unit at David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA). As a key member of our project teams, you will work closely with other engineers and project managers to deliver innovative and reliable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Design and create detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for distribution systems.
- Collaborate with team members to provide electrical engineering and technical knowledge.
- Perform electrical system modeling and analysis, and prepare written reports and information related to analysis.
- Ensure that designed electrical facilities meet NEC, NESC, RUS, and Cooperative and Specific utility standards.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams, and develop project understanding, approach, and work plan.
- Manage communications among the project team and client, and maintain the technical quality of the work.
- Implement the project QA/QC plan, and perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in civil/electrical engineering or construction management (or closely related field) OR 5+ years of applicable electric utility industry experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and construction.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
- Strong leadership, written and oral communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to make decisions with guidance in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Professional Engineer license (PE).
- 5 or more years of experience in distribution line design.
- Competency in Spida Calc, Pole Foreman, O-Calc, or other similar design programs.
