Nurse Practitioner

UC San Diego Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Telemetry Unit at East Campus Medical Center. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to adult medical and surgical patients requiring a higher level of care, including cardiac monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and provide nursing actions for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge.
- Exercise independent judgment within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide education to patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- RN License issued by the State of California.
- BLS and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get UCSD ART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Minimum one (1) year of recent acute care RN experience at the Telemetry level of care or higher acuity.
- BSN.

The Telemetry Unit at East Campus Medical Center provides care for adult medical and surgical patients requiring a higher level of care including cardiac monitoring. Conditions for which patients are typically admitted include cardiac and cardiovascular diseases, respiratory, neurological, renal and metabolic disorders, post general surgery.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance.
