Job Summary

The State of Vermont Department of Corrections is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Food Service Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the kitchen at Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, VT. As a key member of the facility's management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation, while also providing training and supervision to incarcerated individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train incarcerated individuals in food preparation, cooking, and serving
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Develop and implement food service policies and procedures
  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and budgeting
  • Collaborate with facility staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communication
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, food service, home economics, dietetics, or a closely related field
  • Four years of experience in a large-scale food service operation, with at least two years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
