Job Summary

The Millwright will install and maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and written instructions. TappiSafe Basic and Site Specific training/orientation is required before arrival to the job. Current TappiSafe Basic candidates are preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
  2. Assembles and installs machines, testing them to ensure they are working correctly.
  3. Manages the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to minimize downtime.
  4. Identifies and repairs problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
  5. Dismantles older machines and replaces them with new ones.
  6. Oversees preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn-out pieces, and lubricating mechanical parts.
  7. Uses machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
  8. Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines, and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
Qualifications

Preferred: 4 years of work experience as an industrial millwright or has successfully completed a curriculum closely related to Millwright work from a vocational institution with 2 years' experience.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements

Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign. May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above. Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas. Must have full range of motion consistent with age. Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders. Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and other job-related noises. Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces. Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
