UniFirst Corporation is seeking a skilled Radiation Safety Specialist to join our team. As a Sr. Health Physics Technician, you will be responsible for evaluating radiological conditions and job coverage, conducting air sampling and routine facility surveys, and managing waste characterization to determine if the waste meets our Bulk Survey for Release Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate radiological conditions and job coverage.
  • Conduct air sampling and routine facility surveys.
  • Manage waste characterization to determine if the waste meets UniFirst Corporation's Bulk Survey for Release Program.
  • Maintain unrestricted radiological release surveys and techniques.
  • Provide detailed recordkeeping.

Qualifications:

  • High school and/or GED equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience working in Nuclear Power Facilities, DOE Laboratories, or Other Radiological Licensed Facilities.
  • Prior experience as a Sr. HP.
  • Knowledgeable in the Periodic Table of the Elements and the Chart of the Nuclides.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience utilizing a Gamma Spectroscopy system is preferred.
  • NRRPT credentials are preferred.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs in a non-climate-controlled building on a concrete floor.
