Payroll Specialist

Vernon Memorial Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. In this role, you will handle payroll preparation, including timecard management, data entry, and deductions for taxes and benefits.

You will also complete post-payroll procedures, run exception checks, and process federal and state tax deposits.

As a resource for payroll inquiries, you will respond to questions from employees and managers, prepare payroll reports, and assist with audits by providing necessary documentation.

Maintaining accurate payroll records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and handling monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting requirements, including W-2 preparation, are essential responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have an associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with experience in payroll processing.

Strong knowledge of payroll laws, proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and excellent communication skills are essential.
