Payroll Specialist

Job Summary

Vernon Memorial Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. In this role, you will handle payroll preparation, including timecard management, data entry, and deductions for taxes and benefits. You will also complete post-payroll procedures, run exception checks, and process federal and state tax deposits.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle payroll preparation, including timecard management, data entry, and deductions for taxes and benefits
- Complete post-payroll procedures, run exception checks, and process federal and state tax deposits
- Respond to questions from employees and managers, prepare payroll reports, and assist with audits by providing necessary documentation
- Maintain accurate payroll records, ensure compliance with relevant laws, and handle monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting requirements, including W-2 preparation

Requirements

- Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Experience in payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and excellent communication skills
