Construction Materials Engineering Technician

We are seeking an experienced Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting daily field testing and observations of construction materials to ensure strict adherence to industry standards and project specifications.

About the Role:

As a Construction Materials Engineering Technician, you will be involved in the entire construction process, from reviewing plans and specifications to conducting on-site inspections and maintaining detailed records of observations and test results. You will also be responsible for utilizing management tools, ensuring equipment calibration, and performing special inspection tasks in accordance with IBC guidelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing plans and specifications to verify alignment with project goals
  • Conducting on-site inspections and maintaining detailed records of observations and test results
  • Utilizing management tools for efficient data handling and coordination
  • Ensuring equipment calibration and accuracy
  • Performing special inspection tasks in accordance with IBC guidelines
  • Engaging with management, contractors, and clients to ensure transparency and provide progress updates
Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
  • Two or More Active Certification(s): American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), and/or NICET
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You will be working outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing for up to 8 hours a day, and lifting and carrying 40-50lbs of field/laboratory samples and equipment. You will also be required to travel out-of-town and possibly overnight for assignments as needed.
