Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Inspector to join our team at the City of Clearwater, FL. As a Compliance Inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and regulating commercial and industrial companies that discharge to the sewer system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulate, monitor, inspect, and provide technical direction and assistance for the Industrial Pretreatment and Grease Management programs.
  • Inspect businesses for compliance with laws associated with IPP or IPP drafted permits.
  • Communicate IPP requirements and provide follow-up and direction.
  • Enter and input data into databases for proper reporting of activities.
  • Maintain paper and electronic files, draft and send warnings, compliance letters, and notices of violation.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Wastewater Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in the industrial pretreatment, environmental, or wastewater field or laboratory work, preferably involving public contact or interaction.
  • Or 2 years of experience in the industrial pretreatment, environmental, or wastewater field or laboratory work and 3 years of progressive code enforcement experience.
