Software Development Engineer, Cloud Computing Expert

This is a Software Development Engineer position in Amazon's Verified Permissions team. You will work with existing teams in New York, Palo Alto, Seattle, and Berlin, leading the development of new features and performance improvements. The ideal candidate brings experience in building, managing, focusing, and mentoring engineers to deliver fast results that are innovative and create significant value for customers.
About the Team
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key Responsibilities
Design, build, operate and maintain software in order to meet business and customer needs
Interface with a diverse customer base to understand requirements, priorities, and processes
Propose and implement new projects or recommend system improvements
Own all operational metrics and support
Oversee the design process, implementation schedule, and delivery to customers in a fast-paced environment
Work closely with senior leadership to develop the long-term business strategy and feature roadmap
Help develop long-term development and business technology strategies
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
