Job Summary

CASA of San Mateo County is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Part-Time Youth Advocate to join our team. As a Targeted Advocate, you will play a critical role in expanding our services to foster and juvenile youth in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocacy and Support: Provide individualized advocacy and support to 2-6 youth at a time, forming trusted relationships and connecting them with community resources.
  • Case Management: Complete monthly reports, CASA Connect information, and court reports with case recommendations, ensuring timely submission to supervisors.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with youth, social workers, probation officers, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless case management.
  • Training and Development: Participate in assigned training courses to enhance skills and knowledge in serving youth with diverse needs.
  • Travel and Flexibility: Travel to various locations throughout Northern and Central California to meet with youth, with flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a social service-related field or equivalent experience working with youth in education, advocacy, tutoring, mentorship, or childcare.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and proficiency in Spanish (desired but not required).
  • Background Checks: Ability to pass FBI, DOJ, DMV, and CACI background checks.
  • Commitment to CASA's Mission: Passionate about CASA's mission and ability to communicate it effectively to the community.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly Rate: $35/hour with an estimated 20-60 hours per month (average of 8-15 hours/week).
  • Temporary Position: Part-time, non-exempt position ineligible for benefits.
