MLC seeks passionate educators committed to bilingual education and social equity. Our focus is on nurturing biliterate scholars who are globally aware and socially competent. Ideal candidates will have experience in constructivist teaching methods, project-based learning, restorative practices, and effective classroom management. Collaboration, social-emotional learning, and language acquisition are also key components of our educational approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the substitute plan provided by the regular teacher for all academic and social-emotional learning activities.
  • Work collaboratively with grade-level teachers to ensure effective learning plans are executed.
  • Record daily attendance as per the instructions given by the teacher or school administration.
  • Create and maintain a safe and effective learning environment for all students.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including protocols for COVID-19.
  • Support student behavior through positive discipline strategies and re-engagement techniques.
  • Collaborate with Resource Teachers or Aides to address the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Consult with the Director of Student Services regarding students with significant academic or behavioral concerns.
  • Communicate with school leadership to address any issues and ensure instructional continuity.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with strong vocabulary and syntax skills in both languages.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
Additional Information

Compensation: $30 per hour.
