Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute standard retail banking functions, including safe deposit box services, cashing checks, processing credit card advances, redeeming U.S. Savings Bonds, issuing and signing cashier's checks and loan proceeds checks, and accepting loan payments and deposits while verifying cash and endorsements.
  • May involve answering and directing incoming client calls, prioritizing and escalating as necessary.
  • Investigate and confirm account details, resolving client issues as needed.
  • Inform clients about banking services, products, and digital capabilities by maintaining a strong understanding of all relevant offerings.
  • Reconcile transactions at the end of the day and verify cash totals.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and comply with all policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Ensure full compliance with BSA, Reg CC, and all other relevant regulations and policies.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform backup tasks such as processing check orders.
  • May assist the Client Experience Officer with opening and closing procedures.
Essential Skills, Education, and Experience:

Required:
  • Accuracy in cash handling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively while maintaining a professional demeanor associated with Southern First Bancshares.
  • Consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and appearance.
  • Capability to operate computers and standard office equipment such as typewriters, 10-key calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Ability to multitask while ensuring prompt acknowledgment of clients both in person and over the phone.
  • Knowledge of retail banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Successful completion of all required training.
Preferred:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in banking, ideally in both teller and platform roles.
  • Familiarity with banking systems such as Horizon XE.
