Position Overview

Company Overview: Western Milling specializes in the premixing, production, and distribution of tailored products for the feed industry. Our operations focus on delivering high-quality premix solutions for both livestock and pet food sectors.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position entails executing various tasks within the production area while adhering to the company's Food Safety and Quality Assurance protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of tasks at different stations including:
  • Handling and preparing ingredients at the Hand Add Station and Bulk Station
  • Weighing and packaging ingredients for production
  • Stacking and preparing finished products for distribution
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including:
    • Regular cleanup of work areas
    • Immediate removal of any foreign materials
    • Ensuring cleanliness of all equipment used
  • Understanding equipment functions and assisting with maintenance schedules
  • Participating in inventory checks
  • Completing all production documentation accurately
  • Reporting any food safety concerns to management
  • Alerting management to any security issues or suspicious activities
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in food or animal feed production is a plus
Required Skills
  • Familiarity with production processes and standard operating procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
  • Dependable, honest, and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to accommodate production demands, including overtime
  • Focused on quality and thorough in task completion
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, climb, reach, and bend
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25 kg
  • Forklift experience is preferred but not mandatory
Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
  • Working conditions may include dust and noise
  • Exposure to chemicals used in the manufacturing process
