Senior Production Supervisor

The Senior Production Supervisor is accountable for ensuring safety, product quality, timely delivery, and achieving operational efficiencies within the packing and warehouse sectors during designated shifts.
This role emphasizes enhancing productivity by taking charge of the production workflow, which encompasses ensuring the safety of staff, maintaining the quality of the end product, overseeing equipment maintenance, and minimizing waste of both plant and corporate resources.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this position operates on the 2nd Shift, with hours from 3 PM to 12 AM.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee your team and hold them accountable for departmental objectives, including metrics that influence productivity such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, capacity, and area performance.
Analyze data to reduce unplanned and unidentified non-productive time, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
Monitor team performance and operational processes to maximize productivity and exceed plant targets related to overtime, labor costs, and non-productive time.
Set a standard in the facility by adhering to and enforcing all safety protocols.
Communicate safety objectives and initiatives to team members on a daily basis.
Address any safety concerns raised, and if unable to resolve, escalate the issue to the Production Manager.
Prioritize the quality of all products, ensuring that all quality control procedures are executed timely and effectively.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, embracing the principle of 'clean as you go.'
Ensure all team members comply with Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Exemplify positive behavior for your team.
Recognize, manage, and resolve team member issues when possible, knowing when to escalate for further assistance.
Communicate the status and needs of your area to peers, team members, support functions, and the Production Manager.
Monitor production downtime and inform the Production Manager if the packing line experiences a halt of 30 minutes or longer.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1-2 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
1+ years of experience in a leadership role within a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment is preferred.
Forklift operation skills are necessary.
On-the-job training will be provided.
Safety training is mandatory and will be conducted by Panhandle Milling in both group and individual settings.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, and proficiency in reading and writing in English are required.
Capability to work independently.
Availability for flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and shift work may be necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This role requires physical activities such as lifting, pulling, and standing or walking on concrete surfaces.
Exposure to environmental factors such as noise, dust, and varying temperatures is expected.
Conditions may include extreme temperatures ranging from 40 to 100 degrees, with shifts experiencing temperature changes of over 30 degrees.
Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, particularly forklifts, is a consideration.
Climbing ladders may be required.
