Company Profile: Western Milling specializes in the premixing, production, and distribution of formulated products tailored for the feed industry. Our operations are locally managed and focus on producing premix for both animal feed and pet food.

Compensation and Benefits:

This role involves executing various tasks within the production area at multiple stations while adhering to the Company's Food Safety Plan and Quality Assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of tasks at the Hand Add Station, Bulk Station, Bagging Line, and general warehouse, including:
  • Cutting open bags for batch bins
  • Measuring hand increments of ingredients for batch totes or sewing bags
  • Stacking bags on pallets or operating shrink-wrapping equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace:
  • Conduct daily clean-up of debris and dust
  • Promptly dispose of any foreign materials observed in the production area
  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment such as mixers, batch bins, and hand cutting stations
  • Understand equipment functionality, preventative maintenance, and operation
  • Assist in executing preventative maintenance schedules for equipment
  • Participate in inventory cycle counts
  • Ensure all production documentation is legible and complete
  • Report any food safety concerns to management
  • Notify management of any security breaches or suspicious activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in food or animal feed manufacturing is a plus
Required Skills
  • Familiarity with production processes and standard operating procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Dependable, honest, and thorough; a proactive self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Willingness to accommodate production demands, including overtime
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality output
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, climb, reach overhead, and bend
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks throughout the day
  • Must be capable of moving items weighing up to 25 kg
  • Forklift operating experience is preferred but not mandatory
Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
  • Frequent exposure to dusty and noisy conditions
  • Regular exposure to chemicals used in the manufacturing process
