About Us

North Houston Pole Line, a leading provider of high voltage electrical services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Foreman to join our team. With over 50 years of experience in the industry, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner for utility companies across the Southwest.



As a General Foreman, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the operation and maintenance of high voltage electrical substation, distribution, and transmission lines. You will work closely with our clients to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of electrical power-line installers and repairers, crane and tower operators, and other support staff.
  • Plan and execute construction and maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with safety and construction standards.
  • Supervise and mentor apprentice linemen, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Act as the company representative with clients during projects, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Monitor and report progress and performance to management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Five years' experience in high voltage distribution and transmission line work, including at least one year as a foreman.
  • Must be certified in climbing steel and wood structures.
  • Able to properly inspect rubber goods and PPE.
  • Ability to work in various unanticipated locations, outdoors in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Normal workday hours: 6 AM to 6 PM. Time and a half for over 40 hours. Weekends included.
  • Must be Barehand Certified (69-kV to 345-kV – Transmission and 2400-kV to 34.5-kV Distribution Voltage), foreign equivalent accepted.
  • Must have or be able to acquire Journeyman Lineman certification within a reasonable amount of time from a duly constituted Outside Local Union of the IBEW or any Outside Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.
