Position Overview

The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing processes through innovative improvements. This includes optimizing workflows, automating systems, designing machinery, developing materials, and documenting procedures in accordance with Aplix Quality Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, and analyze technical products and systems.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams to initiate and execute continuous improvement projects.
  • Suggest modifications to product development and design to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee the implementation of major process changes and the introduction of new raw materials.
  • Ensure all modifications to processes and raw materials are thoroughly validated prior to execution.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Aplix products on a global scale.
  • Conduct engineering design assessments.
  • May be involved in the development of a diverse range of products.
  • Maintain a visible presence in manufacturing areas with a hands-on approach.
  • Exhibit strong project management skills and effective cost control.
  • Uphold Aplix Quality Standards and requirements in all job functions.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Required: At least 2 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Required: Proficient in troubleshooting equipment and processes.
  • Familiarity with common concepts, practices, and procedures in industrial manufacturing.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, SPC, Solidworks, or other 3D modeling software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with management, the global Aplix team, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Preferred: Experience with Aplix’s current Quality Standard Systems.
  • Plus: Familiarity with automation equipment, including programmable controllers, web guides, tension control, and vision systems.
