RN - Surgical Care Specialist - CNRVMC - Flexible Schedule

This position involves working as a registered nurse in a flexible schedule, with 3-12 hour shifts per 6-week schedule block. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver high-quality care and customer service, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every interaction with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct age-specific admission and ongoing assessments, documenting and using this information to develop a plan of care.
Collaborate with the healthcare team, patient, and family to develop, implement, and evaluate an age-specific interdisciplinary plan of care, revising it as needed based on changes in patient status.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal patient outcomes for patients of all ages, as appropriate to the service area.
Accurately administer and document treatments and medications for patients of all ages, utilizing automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
Requirements:
Graduate of a school of professional nursing of an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure. Obtain CPR, and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC). Successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Meet essential job functions.
