The Psomas Engineering Team is seeking a skilled Traffic Engineering Lead. This role is pivotal in steering our business development efforts in traffic engineering across the Pacific Northwest while overseeing a talented group of traffic engineers engaged in diverse integrated design projects.
Key Responsibilities of the Traffic Engineering Lead
- Direct the formulation, execution, and management of the Traffic Engineering Strategic Plan, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with company leaders to develop and implement business development strategies.
- Lead a growing team, providing mentorship in client relations, marketing, business development, project management, and emerging business lines.
- Manage a variety of traffic signal systems and illumination projects, overseeing all project lifecycle phases, including pre-positioning, negotiations, planning, technical delivery, and financial oversight.
- Define project scope, schedule, and budget for traffic-focused initiatives, coordinating with clients and managing the design team while ensuring quality assurance and control.
- Contribute to medium to large-scale planning analysis and traffic operations projects, including corridor studies, intersection analysis, traffic data collection, and performance metrics.
- Monitor project and business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as Chargeability, Budget, Revenue, and Multiplier.
Minimum Qualifications for the Traffic Engineering Lead
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Over 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Washington.
- Experience in project management across various transportation engineering and operations projects.
- Proven leadership skills with a strong focus on coaching and influencing team members.
- Ability to drive business development strategies by securing new projects and growth opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications for the Traffic Engineering Lead
- 15+ years of experience in traffic design, project management, and business development.
- Professional Transportation Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification.
