Key Responsibilities

  • Assume lead responsibility for a shift in assigned work areas, monitoring work activities to ensure proper performance, service, and completion of work schedules and supervisory instructions.
  • Report problems as necessary and assist management in training employees in proper work techniques and in the use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Participate in routine food service tasks, including assisting in the preparation of various foods and preparing portioned and fast foods on grill, in broiler, or in deep fat fryer as appropriate.
  • Operate a variety of food production equipment, including point-of-sale cash registers, and perform other clerical duties in food services offices as required.
  • Provide customer service as needed, including taking orders, portioning, and serving food to customers, and recording portions served according to procedure.
  • Clean assigned areas following proper sanitary procedures, clear soiled dishes and refuse from tables in dining halls, and load trays and soiled dishes on conveyers, racks, and carts.
  • Ensure all supplies, materials, and equipment are available in assigned work areas for proper performance of duties, and maintain replenishment as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 18 months of experience in food preparation/service preferred.
  • Ability to provide, read, and follow instructions generally acquired through a partial high school education.
  • Heavy lifting and/or operation of dish machine may be required.
