About the Opportunity:

The Boldt Company is seeking an experienced Accounting Professional for Construction Industry to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of customer billings.

About the Role:

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. You will collaborate with project managers to review and submit customer billings, work with project controls to understand job codes and cost codes, and assist in the setup and close-out of jobs in our accounting system.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers on the review and submission of customer billings to ensure charges are accurate and timely.
  • Work with project controls to understand appropriate job codes, cost codes, and general ledger account codes for posting accounts payable, billings, and payroll transactions.
  • Assist in the setup and close-out of jobs in the accounting system and entry of relevant information for accounts payable, billing, and payroll duties.
  • Review material invoices to reconcile quantities and amounts with purchase orders and packing slips, confirming sales tax rates, calculations, and amounts on invoices.
  • Assemble cost transaction documentation for billings, including charges for union labor, non-union labor, materials, subcontracts, general conditions services, and construction rental equipment.
  • Prepare customer billings with their format, frequency, charges, and rates consistent with requirements identified in the customer contract agreement.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors on timely submission of payment applications for inclusion in customer billing and ensuring provided documentation aligns with customer requirements.
  • Support project controls personnel in administering and entering labor billing rates set up by customer or project.
  • After customer approval of billing, post it in the accounting system and proactively work with customers on prompt payment based on contract terms.

Your Requirements:

  • An associate degree in accounting is preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related construction project accounting experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ACCOUNTING principles and processes for accounts payable, customer billings, and payroll timesheets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; skilled in Adobe or Bluebeam PDF software.
  • A valid driver's license may be required, subject to annual Motor Vehicle Records checks.

Earned Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience.
